American Depression Photo collection Online

Amsterdam, 9 april 2001.
During the Great Depression in the 1930ties the American government has sent out photographers to the country side to capture the missery and use the images to gain support for its financial aid to farmers. The Library of Congress digitalised the 164 thousand big photograph collection and has put it online.
