Entry procedures for foreign
workers to be speeded up
Amsterdam, July 7, 2001. The Dutch government decided yesterday to speed up the entry procedures for foreign employees into the Netherlands.
The ministries of Justice, Social Affairs and Foreign Affairs will step up their level of coordination in admitting employees.
The demand for employees outnumbers the supply in certain sectors of the Dutch economy.
In demand are especially IT personnel. Dutch companies have complained about the long procedures for admitting for instance IT personnel from India.
With these measures, the procedures will take the same amount of time as in other surrounding European countries.
